Give the extension only the permissions needed for the capture mode you choose, then send each take directly to Studio.
Install and pin the recorder
- 1Use the Install from the Chrome Web Store button below to open the verified Screenhance recorder listing, then choose Add to Chrome.
- 2Pin the extension from Chrome's extensions menu so the record control stays visible.
- 3Open the product tab you want to demonstrate, then select the Screenhance icon.
- 4Choose This tab for the richest cursor data, or Desktop when you need another window or the full screen.
- 5Enable camera or microphone only when the take needs them, then start recording.
Know when the extension is the better recorder
Use the extension when you want to start from Chrome's toolbar, capture a normal web tab with precise cursor and click data, or record a selected window or full screen through Chrome's share picker. The finished take opens in the same Screenhance Studio editor used by the recorder built into the web app.
You do not need the extension to record with Screenhance. Open Studio and choose Record in browser when you want a no-install screen, camera-only or screen-and-camera recording. The separate guide below compares both paths in detail.
Understand the permissions
- This tab uses Chrome tab capture and can collect cursor and click coordinates inside the recorded page for later polish.
- Desktop/window capture is an optional permission and always uses Chrome's native share picker.
- Camera and microphone access are granted on the extension's permission page, then reused for takes where you enable them.
- The extension can hand a finished take to app.screenhance.com so Studio can open and edit it.
- Chrome blocks recording on protected browser pages such as the Chrome Web Store itself.
Make a clean first take
Close notifications, hide private tabs and rehearse the path once before recording. Start with the cursor resting away from the focal UI, pause briefly between important actions and stop after the final state has had time to register.
