Print work photographs badly on a desk. A scene gives every piece the same lighting.
Search for a free flyer mockup and you get a PSD. It is a good file, but it assumes you own Photoshop, know to double-click the smart object, and are happy to repeat that for every variation you want to show. For a flyer, which usually exists in four or five versions before anyone signs off, that adds up.

A leaflet or brochure folds, which means the interesting shot is the one where the fold shadow crosses the panels.
