Need another answer?

Create a product story from still screens when a live recording is unnecessary or unavailable.

01

Choose screenshot animation when it fits the story

  • Use it for a controlled feature sequence, app concept, UI portfolio piece or product flow that is easier to capture as clean stills.
  • Use a recording instead when cursor movement, typing, scrolling or real interaction is itself the proof.
  • Use consistent screenshot dimensions and product state so transitions feel intentional.
02

Build the sequence

  1. 1Open Studio in Animate mode using the button below and upload the screens in story order.
  2. 2Choose a motion template that supports the number and orientation of screens.
  3. 3Set the output ratio and device frame, then check how every screenshot fits.
  4. 4Adjust durations so viewers can understand each state before the next transition.
  5. 5Add hotspots where the camera should focus within a screen, and use each scene's caption and duration to explain the change without rushing it.
  6. 6Add concise text only where the visual change does not explain itself.
  7. 7Preview the full sequence and export as MP4 or WebM according to browser and destination support.
03

Keep the animation readable

Do not force a long product tour into a few seconds. Split unrelated features into separate clips, or use one benefit-led sequence for the hero and a longer walkthrough elsewhere. Motion should create continuity between screens, not make viewers chase the UI.
